The Guatemalan ultramarathon runner Carlos Sarmiento completed a special task yesterday in his preparation for the Endurance Challenge in California, a test of 82 kilometers.
Sarmiento participated in the first Ultra Trail of Guatemala Cucurucho 20 kilometers that took place in Antigua Guatemala.
Accompanied by three of his young children, Sarmiento crossed the finish line in fourth place in the general category with a time of 1 hour and 57 minutes. The test was won by Mario Rivas.
Year end
To close his competitive year with a flourish, Charlie will travel to California in two weeks to participate in an international event.
“I feel very happy, because I have improved in each competition, with much more confidence because through the preparation I know myself more and more”, Sarmiento pointed out.
The ultramarathon runner is already preparing for next year’s competitions, and Spain will be the first stop in a new competitive year.
